Perhaps
you're wondering how this effort to reach the Bambara with small groups
of individuals came about? Well, in 2006 the International
Missions Board issued a challenge to the churches and associations of
the Southern Baptist Convention to consider partnering in West Africa
with the resident missionaries already in place. In June of 2007
two members of First Baptist Church in Aurora, Ohio took the challenge
seriously and traveled to Mali on a Vision Trip. They returned to
Ohio with more than a vision.

Impacting the Bambara for Eternity
"I live in a small village, in a small house with my family. I lead a busy life. Some people came and told me about the God of the Bible. They said that God created everything, that God loves me. That God sent Jesus for me. I'd always felt a tugging in my heart but I didn't know what that meant. I've wanted to walk on God's path but I didn't know how to find it. They said Jesus came so I could have a relationship with him.
I've decided to follow Jesus. And to be baptized. I am excited and want to tell everyone. But I need someone to teach me, to help me share, to help me grow in my faith. Will you come?"
